Is it possible to manufacture and build a PC case exclusively by using American suppliers? With the resurgence of manufacturing in the United States, how much easier has it become to achieve this goal?

Project

Recreate teenage engineering’s computer-1, manufactured and sourced entirely in the United States.

Goals

  • Case manufactured in America.
  • Parts sourced from American suppliers.
  • Open-sourced CAD and BOM so that anyone can order their own.
  • Breakdown of pricing (teenage engineering vs. bulk vs. one-off).

Requirements

  • Mini-ITX
  • SFX Power Supply
  • Aluminum Enclosure
  • Flat-packable

As close as possible to the computer-1 without any branding.

The full process will be documented on this blog, with all files and resources available on GitHub.
